Reaqua is a simple app that shows public drinking water fountains near you on a map. This page explains what happens to your data when you use it.
Reaqua asks for your device’s location so it can center the map on you and find fountains nearby. This location is used only on your device — it is never sent to us, stored on any server, or shared with any third party. If you deny location access, the app simply falls back to showing a default map view.
The list of water fountains is bundled with the app and sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors. Looking up fountains happens entirely on your device and does not involve sending your location anywhere.
The map imagery itself is loaded from CARTO’s map tile service as you pan and zoom. Like any request to a web server, these requests can include standard technical information such as your IP address and approximate map area being viewed — this is normal for any map-based app and is handled by CARTO, not by us.
